We completed a stunning cinema room as part of a wider project for a new build in Brentwood, Essex. The client approached us with some great ideas for the aesthetics of the room – combined with a desire for creating a real-performance cinema.

We worked in tandem with interior designer Emma Kosh, who created the stunning wall effect. We used the fantastic Lutron Palladium keypads to operate the smart lighting and were able to integrate the QMotion blinds within this.

The heart of the system is the awesome Anthem AV home-cinema receiver and power amplifier running Atmos height channels. The front speakers are Episode by Control4 – rears and effects are a mixture of Triad and Episode with twin Velodyne subwoofers. The projector is a JVC 4k onto a Vutec fixed-frame screen. Blackout blinds by QMotion, lighting by Lutron with overall control by Control4.

The job also comprised a full-house Lutron lighting-control system, allowing scenes to be created in all the rooms combined with some master functionality – all off, holiday-simulation mode, etc. The house was wired for sound using a combination of Sonos music streamers combined with Control4 amplifier and control system and Triad in-ceiling and in-wall speakers.
